I've been experimenting with a new technical setup for the upcoming trip to France and Italy. Usually, I drag a laptop around with me so I can store and edit photos on the road. Also, we were using iWeb in the past for blog updates, but since Apple killed iWeb (or at least convenient publishing for iWeb) that wasn't an option any more.

Apple Camera Connection Kit |
My goal this time around was as little weight as possible without losing too much capability. The combination I'm going with is thus:
- Canon 400d
- iPad 2
- Apple Camera Connection Kit
- Filterstorm Pro (for photo editing on the iPad)
- Blogsy (for editing and publishing to Blogger)
I'm still doing some tests, but the photos import perfectly to the iPad via a direct cable connection, and photo editing is pretty nice with Filterstorm. I still need to make sure that Blogsy publishes without a hitch and then we should be in business. I'll be doing a dry run in Vegas this weekend to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Overall, I think this should be a pretty nice workflow, and will definitely cut down on weight (about 4 lbs.).
